How Much Is Your Dollar Worth: Corporate Attire

By Micah MacGregor on July 14, 2014

If you’re looking to update your closet with a few more professional outfits without breaking the bank, then you’re ready to keep on reading.

Whether you’re starting fresh in the corporate world, heading towards a promotion, or just feeling the need to update a couple of outfits in your wardrobe, you can do so without burning a hole in the pocket of your current pants.

With a little dedication while shopping in one, two, or even all of these gender neutral stores, you’ll find these prices utilize every bit of worth your dollar was meant to possess.

1. H&M

If you have yet to check out H&M for work savvy clothing, now’s the day to do so.

H&M has 3,200 stores located in 54 countries and can be accessed almost anywhere online. H&M features classic and trendy style office ware for men and women.

With H&M’s variety and low prices, you will be able to find what you need to dress yourself from head to toe, year round.

2. Target

While Target is generally associated with home décor, children’s toy, electronics and other home goods, the company is also well known for its clothing department.

Much like the store itself, the clothing department has many categories serving a range of age groups; however, Target also sells the brand Merona that generally features classic casual ware as well as office friendly attire for men and women.

As of last year, Target stores were located heavily in the United States with over 1,700 locations, and expanding into Canada with over 120 locations.

If you’re unable to stop in one of Target’s current locations, you can always shop online.

3. T.J. Maxx

This store can save you a fortune, if you visit at the right time.

T.J. Maxx sells clothing that has been overstocked within brand name companies such as Polo, Ralph Lauren and Talbots.

Men and women’s clothing is available in store, however, only women’s clothing can be purchased online.

In general, I would recommend visiting the store. While T.J. Maxx has a great website, the stock online tends to differ from what’s available in store. T.J. Maxx cycles through their shipments rather quickly in many cases, so for the best finds shoppers should visit regularly.

The stores are generally easy to navigate through, making stopping by to check what’s in stock possible within about 10 minutes. T.J. Maxx is completely worth revisiting because when you find something you like, it’s always listed at a great price and generally becomes one of your favorite pieces in your closet.

So if you’re in the neighborhood for new professional, low-cost and high quality office attire, make sure to visit one or all of these three stores, in person or online.

Feeling confident in the work place is highly important and no longer has to be hindered by a professional wardrobe that seems financially unattainable. All these locations sell clothing that is durable, unique and more than suitable for giving you the confidence you need to get that promotion, job or to handle everyday coworker and customer interactions.
